If you live in Minnesota, I don't have to tell you that it's State Fair time, and I probably don't have to tell you about the big pig, this year's boar being named Pretty Ricky. When I go to the fair I make a beeline for the big pig, and pay much less attention to him than the people around him reacting to his capacious anatomical details...
Sometimes when people ask me what I do, I tell them I'm an inventor. Which is technically true, but certainly an overstatement. People like this super-cool, goofy, crazy genius are the REAL inventors. I love the improvisations; mini jet engines fixed to hockey skate boots, hot water bottles as fuel tanks, flying-squirrel-style suit with air intakes stuck on the shoulders... and the whole damn thing works! My son and I must have watched this thing twenty times in a row. Now he wants to try it. Hell, I want to try it! Don't you?
I think this is my favorite Stone Face design so far (coming sometime this winter), though the lovely Garden Goddess runs a very close second. These are first tries using a prototype mold, but I think they turned out pretty cool. I want to make about fifty of these and line my driveway with them. And then stand out there with my loin cloth and torch. Ooga booga!
