I am fortunate to live in a home with the perfect screen porch for reading and napping, which have become the central elements of my fitness regimen. My most recent workout has been to the tune of Per Petterson's Out Stealing Horses, which is written in a voice so quiet and gentle you feel like you're dreaming even before you drop it on the floor with your neck craned back and mouth wide open, reading glasses askew. Or at least that's the way I imagine I often look in this spot.
